Noor Masjid was founded in 1962 by the families of Mohammadpur Block 5. The current building dates from a 1998 renovation, with the women's section added in 2004. The mosque runs a small library on the ground floor and a hifz programme for both boys and girls. Funding comes entirely from neighbourhood donations — there is no government affiliation.
During Ramadan, the mosque hosts iftar nightly for travellers and serves a small dawn meal before Fajr.
